Liz Cheney is now on the clock and the vote to dislodge the loose cannon congresswoman from her House leadership position set to take place on Wednesday.
Cheney’s ouster has roiled the RINOs despite a furious circling of the wagons to protect one of the swamp’s most vocal protectors. So far their efforts to retake control of the party from former President Donald J. Trump have failed.
With the verdict on Cheney expected to a thumbs down some GOP members of Congress are speaking up to support her. Despite the fact that House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy has made it clear that her antics have become too big of a distraction to be tolerated.
One of them is Iowa Senator Joni Ernst who claims that Cheney’s demotion is “cancel culture”. This accusation comes in spite of the fact that her attacks on Trump and his supporters are undermining party unity. All of this at a time when Joe Biden and Democrats are ramming through the most extreme governing agenda in the nation’s history.
“I feel it’s OK to go ahead and express what you feel is right to express and, you know, cancel culture is cancel culture no matter how you look at it. Unfortunately, I think there are those that are trying to silence others in the party,” Ernst told reporters on Monday.
The media pounced on Ernst’s remarks to backstop their push to save Cheney. She wasn’t one of the RINO’s who was enthusiastic over impeachment, which the senator denounced as a “total sh*t show,” she was also generally supportive of Trump during his historic four years in office.
Ernst isn’t the only Republican who has come down on Cheney’s side. The despicable Mitt Romney claims that her expulsion from House leadership is going to cost dearly in terms of votes.
Susan Collins of Maine also defended Cheney, “Whether or not one agrees with Liz Cheney, there should be room in Republican leadership and in the Republican Party for people who have a variety of views but adhere to the basic principles of the Republican Party: a belief in personal opportunity and individual freedom, free markets and a strong national defense and Liz Cheney certainly embraces all of those principles,” she said.
Cheney also got props from an unlikely source, former NFL superstar running back and accused murderer O.J. Simpson who took to Twitter to weigh in on politics.
According to Simpson, “Watching cable news, it’s all about Liz Cheney. Now I gotta admit, I was not a fan of Liz Cheney. Don’t get me wrong, I’m 50-50 on her politics but I didn’t like her, and then I just realized recently, the reason I didn’t like her had to do with her father, probably my least favorite politician who I don’t like, former vice president Dick Cheney” he said.
The Juice continued, “Then I saw a show the other day and I saw a quote from Voltaire that said that patriotism was the enemy of mankind,” referring to the French philosopher, “thought about that a little bid, somehow I started thinking about the Republican Party.” he said, “and it seemed that truth and honesty seem to be the enemy of many of these Republican politicians and Liz Cheney stands up for the truth.”
The Democrat talking points and media propaganda have taken root to the point where O.J. Simpson, Mitt Romney, and Joni Ernst are in alignment with Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi. It isn’t the sign of a healthy political system and serves as an exclamation point on why tens of millions of Americans are still standing with Trump.
