Tennessee Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn is offering Joe Biden a major piece of advice on how he can “end our border crisis” and actually make a difference.
In an op-ed for Fox News, Blackburn noted how Trump solved a major problem with handling the migrant influx, in part, by creating the Migrant Protection Protocols, which ended the failed policies of “catch and release” and restored order to processing procedures.
The Protocols directed CBP officers to return Central American migrants to Mexico to await adjudication of their asylum claims. To stave off the impending humanitarian crisis, Trump also persuaded Mexican officials to provide aid.
The MPP program was a success because, with the asylum loophole closed, migrants no longer expected to freely enter the U.S. When Biden took office, however, he stopped following the Protocols.
The results were catastrophic. Our overburdened CBP officers are now reporting that nearly 1,000 migrants enter the country without apprehension every day. Fentanyl and other deadly drugs flow freely through gaps in the unfinished border wall.
Sex trafficking has outpaced drugs as the number one source of cartel revenue, and coyotes charge migrants like Mejia thousands of dollars for an escort from Central America to the border.
Blackburn did say that Biden has “has all the tools he needs to end this border security crisis.”
The Republican senator said she has introduced the Make the Migrant Protection Protocols Mandatory Act of 2021, which “would change the law and require border officials to apply the Protocols. All the president has to do is sign on the dotted line and put power back in the hands of CBP.”
Blackburn encouraged Biden and Democrats to support her bill.
According to newly released data, a whopping 178,622 were stopped by federal law enforcement at the U.S.-Mexico border who were trying to illegally enter the country.
That number is the highest amount in more than two decades.
The April total is up 3% from 172,331 in March, which was a 20-year high for the number of people who tried to get into the United States by sneaking over between land crossings or were denied entry at border checkpoints.
Here’s the most terrifying stat of all: In 2020, only 459,000 migrants were apprehended trying to illegally enter the U.S.
In the 2021 fiscal year alone, nearly 750,000 people have been encountered trying to enter the U.S. from Mexico.
Texas Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton is always suing Biden’s administration for allegedly releasing Covid-infected illegal aliens into the United States.
Last month, the Biden Administration was releasing Covid positive illegal aliens into the US interior.
While there’s an increase in Covid-infected illegal aliens coming into America, Biden has substantially decreased the number of illegal aliens they are arresting.
According to Breitbart, Immigration and Customs Enforcement have carried out 75% fewer “priority” arrests, and arrests the Biden administration deems “non-priority” cut by over 80% to the same time frame in 2020.
